Luigi Crespo

Luigi Crespo is a results-proven public relations professional with experience in high-impact meeting and event planning, protocol support, VIP advance, cross-cultural communications, wedding planning, and brand management.

He has served as Director of Events and Protocol for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and has organized hundreds of high-level events and meetings for national and international dignitaries. He is a trusted advisor for senior government officials on event production, branding, etiquette and protocol matters.

Crespo is an active member of the Protocol and Diplomacy International, Protocol Officer Association; the Society of Government and Meeting Professionals; the Network of Latino Meeting Professionals; and the Washington Calligraphers Guild. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Communications for non-for-profit organizations from the American University; a secret national security clearance; and a protocol officer certification from JMAR Institute of Protocol Studies, the leading protocol school for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Prior to his service to the federal government, he was the Press Secretary to the Mayor of the City of Miami and worked in numerous political and public engagement campaigns.

Luigi has been honored with fourteen top performance awards recognizing contributions of high importance to the U.S. government. He has also been featured in Newsweek Magazine as “One of twenty young Hispanics to Watch in 2000,” and in 1999, Hispanic Business Magazine profiled him as “One of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S.” In 1998, Campaigns and Elections Magazine featured him as a “Rising Star of Politics.”

Now a proud American, Crespo emigrated from Lima, Peru in 1989.
